South Africa U17 boys cruised nicely in the COSAFA Cup U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying opener beating Botswana by 4-0.
The journey to the U17 AFCON that will be hosted in Ivory Coast next started on a high note for Amajimbos as they faced their neighbours Botswana in the COSAFA Cup u17.
South Africa looked good on paper against The Young Zebras with highly rated Emile Witbooi in the starting line-up after returning into the country a few days ago following his four-week assessment at Premier League side Chelsea.
inside six minutes, Witbooi’s impact played a part with immediate effect as he was brought down inside the box, and the referee pointed into the penalty spot. Selwyn Stevens stepped up and converted to make it 1-0.
A few minutes later, Witbooi dribbled past two defenders before finishing into the far post to extend the lead to 2-0.
Amajimbos went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Four minutes into the second half, Kamohelo Ramaletse made it 3-0 after good football from Amajimbos. Inside 66th minute Neo Bohloko scored the fourth goal of the match to make it 4-0 for Amajimbos.
