Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders Orbit College returned to winning ways this past weekend to hold onto first place after 16 rounds of games.
Orbit beat Platinum City Rovers 2-0 on the road on Saturday, to remain two points ahead of Upington City, who beat Venda Football Club 2-0, and AmaTuks, who won by the same scoreline against Marumo Gallants.
It is one of the best starts to a season by two teams promoted from the ABC Motsepe League, with the top two only having become professional clubs five months ago.
There were also wins for Black Leopards, who scored late twice to come from a goal down to beat Maritzburg United 2-1; JDR Stars, who beat Pretoria Callies, and Milford, who pulled off a 1-0 victory over Baroka.
Magesi and La Masia played to a 1-1 draw, while Sunday’s only game between Hungry Lions and Casric Stars ended goalless.
