Maritzburg United have announced they will relocated due to lack of support from the leadership of the Pietermaritzburg Municipality. The Team of the Choice had been struggling to secure games at their old home ground Harry Gwala Stadium after Royal AM struck a three-year deal with the Municipality. Maritzburg were relegated the to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in 2022/23, which allowed the municipality to cancel their deal with Farook Kadodia’s team.
