Official: Stellenbosch Sign Former Pirates Defender

Stellenbosch FC have announced the signing of former Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu defender Wayde Jooste. Jooste, 34, made 22 appearances for Usuthu last season, scoring once with one assist, left AmaZulu upon the expiry of his contract. He had been without a club since but has now been snapped up by the Cape Winelands-based side, who announced his arrival on Thursday. Jooste started his career at Bloemfontein Celtic before joining Golden Arrows and later Highlands Park. From there he was snapped up by Pirates, spending two seasons with the Buccaneers, then joined Maritzburg United before his recent stint with Usuthu.
