Rulani Mokwena picked up his first win in the Botola Pro after Wydad Athletic Club beat Moghreb Tetouan 1-0 on Saturday.
The hosts were on the front foot for large parts of the game, but struggled to break the Moghreb defence.
Cassius Mailula featured for 90 minutes, while former AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang wasn’t in the squad yet.
When it looked like the two sides would share the spoils, Wydad received an injury-time penalty, which Nassim Chadli slotted away to wild celebrations of the fans.
It was Mokwena’s fourth official match in charge of Wydad and so far, they’ve won two, drawn one and lost one.
In the Botolo Pro log, Wydad climbed to sixth spot with three points from their opening two matches.
