Dynamos Vice Chair Slates Billiat, Gets Sacked

Vincent Chawonza, the vice chairman of Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League giants Dynamos FC, has slated Khama Billiat after signing with rivals Yadah FC, with his comments resulting in him losing his job.

Billiat was close to joining “The Glamour Boys” and even chose jersey number 12 for the 2024 season.

But the move was hijacked by Yadah FC at the last minute as they reportedly paid Billiat a cash signing-on fee upon his arrival at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.

Speaking with Energy FM, Chawonza slated Billiat and even said he was not supposed to have left Kaizer Chiefs. He also mentioned that they had the same offer as Yadah FC.

“People who are around him, Khama Billiat are ill-advising him. I think the blame goes to his managers, starting with the decision not to renew his stay at Kaizer Chiefs,” Chawonza told Energy FM, as per Zimbabwean publication Soccer24.

“He wasn’t supposed to leave Kaizer Chiefs in the first place. We tabled a similar offer as Yadah, but they were swift and gave him cash on Tuesday when he arrived.

“I think he listens too much to the people who are around him, yet they are ill-advising him. As a player, he has made some decisions that I did not expect of him.

“But it all boils down to his management because they are not leading him well. He was the one who initiated talks with us during George Chigova’s funeral. Then we initiated talks with our coach. Everything was on course until Tuesday.”

However, Dynamos did take those comments laightly and have parted ways with their vice chairman.
