TS Galaxy have opted to release star midfielder Higor Vidal ahead of the 2024/25 DStv Premiership season.
The Brazilian playmaker arrived at Galaxy with an injury but the club managed to get him fit and firing before he emerged as one of their leading performers.
Vidal, 27, who has played in Brazil, Greece, Lithuania and Indonesia before his arrival in the DStv Premiership, scored two goals with seven assists but suffered another relapse in his injury which is said to be a six-month recovery estimation.
The club have now allowed him to return to his homeland and opted against activating his one-year option to allow him to continue his career elsewhere.
Despite being highly regarded by the club and technical team, the Rockets are now looking towards new signing Siphesihle Maduna, who has been roped in after his exit from Cape Town Spurs, to fill the void as their chief creator in midfield.
Maduna, Victor Letsoalo and Khulumani Ndamane, who was part of Kaizer Chiefs’ development last season, are among the signings already secured by the club.
