Maritzburg United Part Ways with Skelem

Maritzburg United have parted ways with Lelethu Skelem just seven weeks after he rejoined the club.

Skelem was signed by United in July after leaving the side In December. The former Stellenbosch FC forward was yet to play an official match for the Team Of Choice since returning to the club.

But Skelem, who has been sidelined with an Achilles injury since making his return to Pietermaritzburg, has now been released by the club without donning their shirt again.

According to a source, Skelem is expected to arrive in Cape Town after he reached an agreement with the club to terminate his contract, but his next destination is yet to be known.

Zipho Dlangalala’s side are sitting second in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after collecting seven points from their opening three games and scoring five goals in the process.
