TS Galaxy have secured the services of promising forward Owethu Khumalo.
It’s been a meteoric rise for Khumalo from the Gauteng Development League (GDL) with Randburg U19s just two years ago before joining Moroka Swallows.
After scoring six goals in seven games in the DStv Diski Challnge (DDC), he was awarded his first team debut at the Dube Birds under then-head coach Steve Komphela.
He went on to feature five times for the first team before their status sale to Marumo Gallants but Galaxy has now lured him away from the club.
The Rockets have continued to search for emerging talent in South Africa, more specifically those excelling in the reserve league and have found joy in recent seasons.
Khulumani Ndamane joined in the current window from Kaizer Chiefs, while Samukelo Kabini and Puso Ditejane have become regulars in Sead Ramovic’s starting line-up since their arrivals from Orlando Pirates and Chiefs reserve teams respectively.
Khumalo becomes their 10th signing of the window after Ndamane, Victor Letsoalo, Thamsanqa Masiya, Siphesihle Maduna, Ntiyiso Bombi, Qobolwakhe Sibande, Eliza Ira Tape, Jegbay Morris and Emmanuel Seih.
