Former Maritzburg United striker Friday Samu is set to rejoin Zambian side Green Buffaloes after a move to Cape Town Spurs didn’t materialise.
Samu joined Maritzburg United back in January 2021 after he had good first half of the season in the Zambian Super League, netting 14 goals.
He scored five goals in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign at United but only three in the following campaign in 28 league appearances.
The Zambian international recently terminated his contract with the Team of Choice, who were looking to scale down, after spending two years with the club
Maritzburg are currently attempting to fight their way back to the DStv Premiership from Motsepe Foundation Championship, but only find themselves in 11th place with 20 points from 17 games – 10 behind leaders Orbit College.
After leaving Maritzburg in December, Samu was training with Spurs in January, with the club keen on signing him.
But information received by iDiski Times state that the Urban Warriors couldn’t sign the Zambian due to some documentation issues.
This publication understands that the 30-year-old is set to return to Buffaloes in his home coutnry until the end of the season.
