Kaizer Chiefs beat Cape Town City and extended the gap at the top after Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points against Stellenbosch. Orlando Pirates managed to get back-to-back wins after narrowly beating struggling Marumo Gallants, while SuperSport United beat Chippa United in a 10-goal thriller.
The first-half goal from Siphamandla Msezana was enough to hand Pirates all three points. Msezana scored from the penalty spot. Buccaneers moved to seventh place.
SuperSport United got their fifth straight win in a 10-goal thriller at Buffalo City. Matsatsantsa Siviwe Magidigidi netted a brace, and Manelisi Mazibuko was also on the scoresheet for the second successive game.
Another blockbuster of goals saw Stellenbosch return to winning ways. They beat 10-man Sundowns by 4-3, ending their 10-match unbeaten run at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Stellies moved to fourth place on points with third-placed Sundowns.
After hammering Cape Town City 3-1 at Dobsinville Stadium, the Chiefs remained top of the table. Hlongwane, Hendricks, and Bohloko were on the scoresheet for Amakhosi. Meanwhile, Cee-Jay Bezeuidenhout scored the only goal for City.
