Sundowns Agree Terms With Costa

Mamelodi Sundowns have agreed to sign Brazilian forward Lucas Ribeiro Costa from Belgian club SK Beveren.

The 24-year-old who can feature in the ten role, on either wing and as a false nine has been on the radar of the club for some time as they looked to secure a left-footed attacker.

iDiski Times understands they have now landed their man, with the player set to arrive early next month before their pre-season trip to the Netherlands which is confirmed for 17 to 29 July.

Costa excelled last season at the second-tier side, netting 11 goals and scoring eight assists in 33 games across all competitions.

After four years in Belgium and two years in France with Valenciennes after leaving his native Brazil, Costa arrives in South Africa for his latest challenge with the CAF Champions League and Africa Super League on the horizon beyond the domestic campaign.

He is set to join Junior Mendieta and Lesiba Nku as their newest recruits ahead of the 2023/24 season.
