Khanye – Who Chiefs Should Bring In

With Junior Khanye predicting the departure of Molefi Ntseki as Kaizer Chiefs head coach, the former Amakhosi winger also suggested that the club should look into bringing former assistant Farouk Khan back.

Ntseki was named as head coach at the beginning of the season with the mandate to bring stability and improve performances.

He has been in charge of 13 matches in all competitions so far winning four, drawing three and losing six, in the process getting eliminated from two cup competitions – the MTN8 and the latest the Carling Knockout Cup.

Former Amakhosi winger, Khanye admits that the chairman has done great work to get the brand where it is, however, that is also under threat with results not coming.

Khanye further suggested that Khan should be brought back to head up the side’s development, with the role becoming somewhat vacant after Cavin Johnson, who was named Head of the Youth Development Academy recently, has now been appointed as interim head coach.

“It [Ntseki] was a wrong appointment from Chiefs but there is a lot of work they need to do. Even if they bring Cavin that won’t be a solution,” Khanye said on iDiskiTV after their 1-0 defeat to AmaZulu and before Chiefs announced Ntseki’s departure on Monday.

“They need to reshuffle the whole technical team first and bring players who deserve to play for the club, players who won’t feel the weight of the Chiefs jersey. For that you need clever scouts, people who are knowledgeable who won’t do anyone any favours.

“They need someone who will point players to come play and then coach them to improve and bring back the glory days. They also have to fix how they play.

“Mr Kaizer Motaung has done a lot and well for the brand to be where it is today but truly speaking even the brand is going down now they are not winning anything. You can’t say Chiefs will get things right when they are still playing the way they are.

“It’s going to get worse. They need to restructure the development too and you can say what you like about Farouk Khan but that man is one of the best coaches in terms of Head of Development.

“I can tell you that the coaches he will work with won’t be because of any favour. I have played there and that guy did not do us any favours and I know that his players won’t have problems clicking when they get to the first team.”
