Kaizer Chiefs right-back Dillan Solomons believes that they can still salvage their inconsistent season after a great start which has not yielded the outcome they had hoped for.
The Glamour Boys created a huge expectation at the beginning of the current campaign after roping in an entirely new technical team, dipped into the transfer market and even went for pre-season in Türkiye.

They simultaneously had a great start to the campaign, but their earlier signs have since fizzled out where they now currently lie eighth on the table and are fighting to compete in next season’s MTN8 competition after missing out this season.
Dolomons has been used sparingly this term, making just nine league appearances with a single assist, and the former Moroka Swallows wing-back insists that despite a not-so great season, they can still make up for their earlier disappointments by putting the smiles back on the fans’ faces.
“As players, we appreciate the support we get week in and week out,” Solomons told the media.
“The pre-season was special for us as a team, obviously new technical staff, new players coming in, so people were very… they expected us to show better showing than last season.

“Obviously, it didn’t happen, but as players we have to take responsibility, and we have to say that the inconsistency is also us. We can’t just blame other people.
“We have to take responsibility and show that these last few stretch that we can do it as a team. We can show people what we’re about, not just on the field but our character.
“And we look forward to showing people what we can do. Obviously, we’re in the final but that’s just a bit further back.
“We have to stay focused on the games ahead and hopefully we can put the smiles on the whole of South Africa’s faces.”
