Nurkovic Misses Out On CAFCL Player Of The Week
Despite his two-goal show against Simba S.C., Kaizer Chiefs star Samir Nurkovic missed out on being named CAF Champions League Player of the Week, with an Al Ahly player taking the accolade.
Nurkovic has scored two goals and assisted another in Chiefs’ 4-0 thrashing of the Tanzanian giants on Saturday.
The 28-year-old scored his first two goals in this season’s CAF Champions League campaign and was one of the four nominated men for the CAFCL Player of the Week.
However, the award, which is decided by a fans vote, was won by Pitso Mosimane’s star midfielder, Dieng Aliou for his solid display against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Nurkovic, though, was one of three Chiefs stars alongside Leonardo Castro and Eric Mathoho, who were included in the CAFCL Team of the Week
CAF also announced the winner for the Goal of the Week, with Taher Mohamed’s opener against Masandawana from outside the box being handed the award.
