Baxter – Dolly Signing Sends Out Chiefs Message
Stuart Baxter has insisted that Kaizer Chiefs could’ve opted against signing Keagan Dolly but instead chose to send out a message with their marquee signing.
Dolly will have to wait for his Chiefs debut until he has regained his fitness, Baxter revealed after the Carling Black Label Cup.
However, the coach also insisted that signing the former Montpellier winger is a statement of intent by the Glamour Boys.
“Keagan is a national team player. He is a player who has moved abroad,” he said.
“He is undoubtedly a talent and he is a good lad.
“I think he’d be wanting to get back into shape as quickly as he can and he wants to get on the field as quickly as he can.
“But it does send out another message, because Keagan wanted to come to us and we could’ve ducked it, or we could’ve gone for a cheaper option, or we could’ve gone for a more obscure option.
“But we didn’t dodge it and I think that’s a good message for the Chiefs fans.”
