Musonda Ready To Add Value At Swallows
New Swallows signing Mwape Musonda says he is happy to be back in South Africa, and especially joining a club like the Dube Birds.
Musonda, was the PSL Golden Boot winner three seasons ago when at Black Leopards, and says being back in the country, is almost like being at home.
After coming to South Africa, Musonda originally signed for Orlando Pirates, and also spent a season on loan at Golden Arrows, but it was at Lidoda Duvha where he became a lethal finisher, scoring over 60 goals in all competitions in his four seasons in Limpopo.
“It feels great,” Musonda said about returning to South Africa.
“I think I’ve been here, I think this is my seventh year if I’m not mistaken. So somehow, when you’ve been in a place for this long somehow it feels like home. So ja, in as much as it’s not home, per se, but I’d say it’s great to be back home here.”
The Zambian says he is also excited to join Swallows, who is he excited to join.
“Ja, I think I’ve been watching them since last season,” Musonda continued.
“And I mean, watching from far, I could see that there’s something going on there.
“And for sure, when I got here, the environment, the atmosphere is just great. The guys the way they handle themselves at training, I mean, you can see that there’s something going on here.
“And for sure, when I got here I wasn’t disappointed with what I expected. I mean, it shows from afar that there’s something going on there. So I think that it feels great to be part of a sort of team that is moving forward with a direction and you can see what they’re trying to achieve.
“And I know that my coming in will obviously add value to to the team and see what we can achieve this season.”
