Chiefs Hand SSU First Defeat

Kaizer Chiefs have handed SuperSport United their first defeat in the DStv Premiership this season thanks to a brace by Bernard Parker.

SuperSport had the first notable chance in the 12th minute when a header by Teboho Mokoena sailed past the post following a corner.

Chiefs had their first chance in the when Bernard Parker was played in by a long ball from Keagan Dolly but his shot was pushed around the post by Ronwen Williams.

SuperSport almost scored in the 22nd minute but a shot from outside the box was deflected just past the Chiefs goal.

Chiefs found the opener just before half-time as Parker finished past Williams with a powerful shot from inside the box. It was Die Hond’s first DStv Premiership goal since 2 March 2019.

However, their lead was shot-lived as SuperSport equalised just two minutes later thanks to a header by Thamsanqa Gabuza.

Parker completed his brace just three minutes into the second half thanks to another well-placed shot past Williams after played in by Dolly.

SuperSport tried to find an equaliser but couldn’t produce more than a couple of headers over the bar.

Instead, Chiefs could’ve made it 3-1 in the 93rd minute but Nange put his shot wide after being set up by Dolly.

The victory saw Chiefs climb into fifth spot with 12 points, while SuperSport remained in second place with three more.
