Cape Town Spurs have announced the signing of veteran defender Bevan Fransman ahead of the 2021/22 GladAfrica Championship season.
Fransman was a free agent after leaving TS Galaxy at the end of last season.
The 37-year-old returns to his hometown 22 years after making his PSL debut in the city before he headed overseas to Mouscron in Belgium.
He returned to the country four years later where he played for Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows before a long stint in Israel with Maccabi Netanya and Hapoel Tel Aviv.
In 2012 he returned home again to join SuperSport United, which was followed by spells at Bloemfontein Celtic, Maritzburg United and Highlands Park, before Galaxy bought Highlands’ franchise in 2020.
Fransman is Spurs’ fourth signing this season and joins Jarrod Moroole, Colin Ryan and Moisés Pedro Amor as the club’s new players.
