The South African Football Association (SAFA) have dismissed reports that head coach Hugo Broos been offered a new one-year contract to continue as Bafana Bafana head coach. Official: AmaTuks Release 21, Incl. Ex-Bafana Man

Motsepe Foundation Championship side AmaTuks have released 21 players, including former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Veli Mothwa. Mothwa, 35, joined the University of Pretoria after he had been a free agent following his release from AmaZulu at the end of June 2025. However, the former Bafana keeper only made eight appearances under Kwanele Kopo and was now part of the players released on Wednesday. CAF Announce Massive Increase In Prize Money For 2026 WAFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday announced a 100% increase in prize money for the winner of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament. The tournament which also serves as a 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil qualifier kicks off in Rabat on Sunday and goes until 16 August 2026.   The four semi-finalists at the event will automatically qualify for the global showpiece. The tournament is not only big in terms of the stakes but also there has been four teams added to the roaster making it the biggest WAFCON yet with 16 national teams.

Chiefs Give Clarity On Friendly

Kaizer Chiefs have clarified the upcoming friendly match at Lifofane FC will be played by the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side. Amakhosi have returned from their trip to Spain, and are currently preparing for their friendly match against Scottland FC in the Toyota Cup on Sunday.
