Malesela Closes In On New PSL Club

Motsepe Foundation Championship campaigners Baroka FC have set their sights on Dan Malesela to assume the coaching reins.

For the first time since November, the Limpopo-based side has suffered back-to-back defeats, culminating in a 2-0 loss against relegation-threatened Cape Town Spurs. The side dropped to eighth place after collecting only one point in their last three matches.

Foster Hlongwane, who has been at the helm, seems to be struggling to propel the team to the desired heights.

As first reported by FARPost, Baroka have engaged in discussions with Malesela to reconcile their relationship after he was let go during the promotion playoffs last year. The talks over his return are now in the final stages, this publication has learnt.

The club believes that this is an opportune time to bring in the new coach, particularly since he will have two weeks to work with the players before their next game against arch-rivals Black Leopards.

Malesela was recently relieved of his duties at Marumo Gallants due to poor results. This will be his second stint with Bakgakga, having coached them between October 2023 and June 2024.
